Dr. Abraham offers a full range of LARC options, including intrauterine devices (IUDs) and Nexplanon contraceptive implants. These highly effective, long-term birth control methods are ideal for patients who want reliable protection without daily maintenance. The IUD can also be used as a method to protect the lining of your uterus if you have PCOS or while taking menopausal hormone therapy. Hormonal and non-hormonal options can last between 3–10 years depending on the method. Both options are safe, effective, and easily reversible. Because pain is a common concern, Dr. Abraham prioritizes effective pain management and offers multiple options to ensure you are as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure.

Dr. Abraham takes time to counsel each patient on their contraceptive options, including benefits, side effects, and what to expect during placement. We recommend a counseling visit in advance of the procedure to allow enough time to obtain the device via your insurance, and discuss preparation and pain management for the procedure. IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals are performed in the office.
