FAQs

  • The best care happens when you have direct access to your physician. Insurance can get in the way by cutting visits short, restricting treatment options, and adding unnecessary administrative hurdles. Our model allows us to spend more time with each patient, offer highly personalized care, and avoid the limitations of traditional insurance-based medicine. This, in turn, gives you the time, access, and attention you truly deserve. In order to optimize your health insurance plan, we provide you with a detailed superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. We do accept HSA and FSA cards.

As a courtesy to our patients, we also offer in-office lab services that can be billed directly to your insurance.

  • Please contact our office directly to schedule an appointment. You may call us at 202-919-6287 or 202-946-1637, or email us at office@taraabrahammd.com.

  • Yes, absolutely! We welcome adolescent patients and provide age-appropriate, respectful care for teenagers and young adults. Whether scheduling a first gynecologic visit, discussing cycle concerns, contraceptive counseling, or general education around reproductive health, we create a safe, supportive environment for both patients and parents.

  • We will respond to all non-urgent messages during business hours. For true emergencies, we recommend you call 911.

  • In order to provide the most comprehensive and thorough care, please obtain your medical health records. Records should be sent to our office at minimum one week prior to your appointment. New patients (those who have not seen Dr. Abraham before) are encouraged to send medical records from the past 1-2 years to help Dr. Abraham provide the most informed and personalized care possible. Dr. Abraham is affiliated with Sibley Memorial Hospital and has access to care performed at the hospital.

  • We are not a concierge practice, but we do offer personalized, unhurried care that feels like one. Our goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based women’s health in an environment where you feel heard and never rushed. We are structured to prioritize quality over volume— so every visit has the time and space it deserves.

  • We require a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Please email (office@taraabrahammd.com) or call us (202-919-6287) to cancel. For cancellations with less than 48 hours notice, a missed appointment fee of $100 may apply. If you are running more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can determine the best course of action. Your appointment may have to be rescheduled to be respectful of the time allotted for you and that you deserve for your visit, as well as those that follow you.

  • Unfortunately not. Dr. Abraham does not practice obstetrics, but does offer "preconception visits" to discuss labs or tests needed before getting pregnant, along with trying to conceive, and initial fertility challenges.

Focusing on gynecological care allows Dr. Abraham to devote more time to her patients and truly focus on her passion: redefining women’s wellness. If a patient of hers were to become pregnant, she would refer them to excellent colleagues who practice obstetrics.

  • Of course! We provide full-scope gynecological care with annual exam screenings, including Pap smears, mammogram orders, bone density screening, hereditary cancer genetic screening and any other necessary tests.

  • Yes! We offer lab work in our office as part of our commitment to comprehensive care. We have a dedicated phlebotomist from Quest Diagnostics who performs lab draws on-site. All labs are billed through your insurance as a courtesy to our patients.
